Austin Linen Shirt-Floral is inspired by 70s fashion style. Large floral print is very unique for use in kids wear. We have light blue, white and medium green in this design. Symmetrical design is a bit difficult when sewing as you must take extra care to match the design shapes or lines especially at the buttons.
We have a small home production. Because of that each shirt is cut separately and each one has different part of the print at the front or for the pocket. This practice allows us to save fabric and minimize the waste. Austin Linen Shirt-Floral is a unisex style oversized shirt. By making it larger it is well suitable to layer over a T-shirt or a shirt, so it is like a shacket. Kids can wear it all year round.
Linen is natural and most sustainable material that we love to use. It is breathable and soft, gets softer with each wash. To prevent fabric shrinking we take care and prewash the fabric before cutting it out. For ongoing care and maintenance of linen fabric you need to wash it in cold water only. Otherwise, the shirt will crease in a bad way. Hot steamy iron is ok to use, although slightly creased linen has extra charm.
