Rosewood Eucalyptus Oil is a 100% Australian owned family run business first established in 1983 by my parents Merv and Marion Piper on the family farm in Rosewood NSW. Rosewood is a small farming town located near the Snowy Mountains in southern NSW approx. 3hrs from Canberra. Rosewood has a rich history when it comes to Eucalyptus oil, my Grandfather Arthur Piper was cutting and distilling Eucalyptus Oil back in the late 1930’s when the Eucalyptus Oil industry was booming, many people worked cutting Eucalyptus leaves to put food on the table. My Father Merv started cutting leaves when he was just 14 and has done so all his life and handed down the skills to me. My names Steve Piper and I am proudly 3rd generation in the Eucalyptus Oil industry. I’m now based in Perth for my work in the mining industry but get back to the Farm at every opportunity I get. So Natural Company We are proudly an Australian owned and operated company Our journey started with just trying to find the right ‘soap’ for the family. What a journey it has been! With 2 family dogs washing our hands 10-20 times a day was a norm but having the skin on the fingers drying out, splitting and bleeding was not. So, from cheap to expensive soaps we tried, and we were struggling to find a soap that doesn’t cause our skin to dry out. We discovered in this journey that a lot of “soaps” were actually not soaps. We were using synthetic detergents scented with synthetic fragrances or perfumes! So, we started making soaps, ‘true soaps’. In this interesting journey, we learnt about the so many personal hygiene and skin care products that can be made with using natural ingredients and the effects the ingredients have on our skin and bodies.
